Blue Bay Jazz Fest in Frederiksted
    Get ready for the Blue Bay Jazz Festival November 19 to 23 in St. Croix’s historic town of Frederiksted. International jazz greats will heat up the festival stage overlooking historic Fort Frederik beach, jam with regional and local performers and mingle with festival attendees during a meet the artists luncheon at Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts. Performers include percussionists Tito Puente Jr, and Pete Escovedo, singer Sherrie Bias, Roland Briceno on saxophone, guitarist James “Blood” Ulmer, Rahed Ali Quartet, and more, along with local notables Eddie Russell Adjoa, and Steve Simon.

Find balance on the beach
    If you want to get back into the swim, nothing soothes the soul like feeling your feet melt into sand or moving gravity free through the sea. There’s a bounty of beaches in the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Choose among delicious stretches of white and tawny colored grains, seashell studded shorelines and pebbled paths. Some are scorchers, while others provide cooling shade from sea grapes and coconut palms. And they vary in temperament as well as temperature. Though travel guides may proclaim the best beaches, it’s really just a matter of mood.

Earthrace a win for environment
    The world’s fastest eco-boat, fueled completely by renewable biodiesel , included Tortola and Virgin Gorda in its recent world tour. Earthrace is a 24m tri-hull wavepiercer built in New Zealand. Skipper Pete Bethune, a former oil worker, has dedicated the past six years to of smashing the world record to circumnavigate the globe and draw attention to the use of alternative energy.
